I want to get back into writing and reviewing books again. I haven't given up on reading. I've actually have been reading more often then normal. So here goes again!Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-30412578452495692972009-12-24T05:37:00.000-08:002009-12-24T06:10:29.720-08:00Review: Working For the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow(Blurb)<br /><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">Necromance</span>-for-hire Dante Valentine is choosy about her jobs. Hot-tempered and with nerves of steel, she can raise the dead like nobody’s business. But one rainy Monday morning, everything goes straight to Hell.<br />The Devil hires Dante to eliminate a renegade demon: <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">Vardimal</span> <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">Santino</span>. In return, he will let her live. It’s an offer she can’t refuse.<br />There’s just one catch. How do you kill something that can’t die?<br /><br />(Review)<br />I had read Strange Angels by Lilith <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Saintcrow</span>, and I wasn't impressed. But this book, the first in the Dante Valentine series was a much and needed improvement for my views on the author.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Plot:</span> Danny is brought to hell by <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jaf</span>, the Devil's right hand man, to assassinate the demon <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-error">Santino</span>, and return Lucifer the 'Egg'. But Danny had her own score to settle on <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">Santino</span>, five years ago <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">Santino</span> had killed one of Danny's best friends Doreen. But Danny also nearly died trying to save Doreen.<br />The first part of the book consists of Danny trying to get contacts and her friends to assist with finding <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">Santino</span>. And dealing with a Demon Familiar. One that see neither wants or thinks she needs for that matter. <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_9" class="blsp-spelling-error">Japhrimel</span> a demon with bright green eyes and flat toned voice, was stuck with Danny, bond to her by the demon mark burning bright on her shoulder blade.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Characters:</span> Are defined and different, each one with their own talents and moods. Danny is rather hard to like at first but her reason are fair. Most of her attitude is sarcastic and rude, which i like first fine in my female heroins. Her love is torn in a way between <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_10" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jaf</span> and <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_11" class="blsp-spelling-error">Jace</span>, her ex-lover that left without a word years ago. Gabe and Eddie, Gabe another <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_12" class="blsp-spelling-error">Necromance</span>, although not as powerful as Danny has her skills as a police detective, and her boyfriend Eddie, a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_13" class="blsp-spelling-error">Skinlin</span> or <em><span id="SPELLING_ERROR_14" class="blsp-spelling-error">Dirtwitch</span> </em>with an over protective-<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_15" class="blsp-spelling-error">ness</span> over Gabe. All assist, even after Danny's ranting and complaining saying that she 'works alone', they stick to their friends side as she tries so kill the demon that came so close to killing her in the past.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Setting:</span> The setting throughout the book was confusing. Set in Saint City, although it never says what state it is in. It is set in the distant future, with <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_16" class="blsp-spelling-error">hovercars</span> and magical creatures out and about. At first this makes the story hard to follow and most of the time You wonder what they are talking about because of the futurist language and the language the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_17" class="blsp-spelling-error">unhumans</span> use. Although some of the back story can come close to real life. Such as the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_18" class="blsp-spelling-error">Choyne</span> Towers Disaster, something that could be compared to the Twin Towers terrorist attack.<br /><br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Cover:</span> Good, but the woman on the cover doesn't really look like the woman that is described in the book. The red, black, and white work well though. -A<br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Ages:</span> 14 and up for language, sexual content and graphic fighting.<br /><span style="color:#ff0000;">Rating:</span> 4/5 Rocking skulls.Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-90097101601418770122009-12-20T12:21:00.000-08:002009-12-20T12:24:45.588-08:00Over a yearI had this blog for alittle over a year now. And to say I'm commited is an understatement. I'm not at ALL. But thats okay, Highschool has taken so much time out of me, and I've hardly read anything other then Of Mice and Men for the past 3 months. I didn't even finish the Morganville Vamp books. It takes so much to catch my interest now-a-days. Oh, well. I'm hoping to get some books for Christmas to add to my still over-flown reading pile. But for now I'm reading Working for the Devil by Lilith Saintcrow, author for Strange Angels. And this book really out does her YA books. Well maybe a review up soon? We shall see.Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-68171549914928965412009-10-14T14:07:00.000-07:002009-10-14T14:13:47.205-07:00Hola Amigo (a).So I thought that I may come back to the blogging world again. I know, I do this alot and most likely will do this again in the future. But for now I think I am staying for a while longer. I finally start Feast of Fools by Rachel Caine. So hopefully a review will be up on that one soon. Also I just got a new laptop. So, I can type in the go!Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-65629785050040506752009-08-07T17:04:00.000-07:002009-08-07T17:48:21.441-07:00Tale of Two Summers by Brian Sloan<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SnzKgkv7P8I/AAAAAAAAAPQ/8ZVLp-T9H0A/s1600-h/tale.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5367387516888104898" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 133px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SnzKgkv7P8I/AAAAAAAAAPQ/8ZVLp-T9H0A/s200/tale.jpg" border="0" /></a>Hardcover: 256 pages<br />Publisher: Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing (May 23, 2006)<br /><br /><div></div><div> </div><div>(Blurb)</div><div>Two best friends spend their first summer apart blogging to each other about their separate but equally exciting romantic and sexual adventures. Chuck, the talented one, goes off to summer theatre camp where he proceeds to fall for the sexy female lead of his show. Hal, the less talented one, stays at home in exciting Wheaton, MD learning how to drive and getting busy with a hot French dude he meets at the mall. With a frank and shocking candor, these two 15 year-olds going on 20 debate their differences, consider their similarities, and push their decade long friendship to the breaking point during a summer that neither of them will soon forget.</div><br /><div><br /></div><br /><div>(Review)</div><div>So I only really enjoyed half of this book. The Hal parts to be honest. I mean Chuck was just so boring and Hal was just so funny and wrote tons of gay sex stuff ;0. Hehe. But lets get this thing started</div><br /><div><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">Plot:</span></strong> Over all good. I enjoyed reading the plots for both Hal and Chuck even if Chuck was boring! The romance and the problems happening were good. The 'New Years' event kept me guessing until it was revealed. And honestly I think Chuck wished...Well you will have to read it ;)</div><br /><div><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">Characters:</span></strong> Hal, I liked him alot, and could totally relate. And not just on the gay thing either. Personality and even our boyfriends, even if Henri doesn't like that word, are alike. Chuck is a drama 'fag' as they call him. (Which irked me alot) But he was boring and totally blind to the love. And they both use homophobic language, which irked me. The characters were different for sure, all having different opinions and conflicts. </div><br /><div>By the way, Brett (girl name this time) is such a dumbass always giving poor Hal love advice. I wanted to smack-a-bitch.</div><br /><div><strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">Cover:</span></strong> It tis okay. Chuck isn't as handsome as he is described. Hal is okay, but HEY PEOPLE IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT LOOKS. Kay? I really don't see why the title is mirrored. It tis odd. He'd love to hook up with gorgeous Roxy, but she has no idea he's alive. Watching a TV show one night gives Carlos an idea: What if he got a makeover from Sal, a senior at his school who's gay? Sal agrees-but only if Carlos helps him start a Gay-Straight Alliance. Carlos doesn't expect the catch. What are his friends going to think. And is he ever going to get what he wants?</div><br /><div><br /> </div><div>(Review)</div><div>When Carlos see's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy he gets this idea that Sal can give him a makeover that will help get him the girl of his dreams. But when the girl of his dreams comes between Carlos and Sal's deal and friendship, Carlos's world gets even more complicated.<br /></div><div>Getting it is about not only love but becoming more understanding to people that are different then you are. </div><div> </div><div><strong>Plot: </strong>Not the most original when it comes to the whole makeover thing, but because it has to deal with GSA, it makes it an interesting twist to the story. It was overall a good book and although the message is a good one, I don't feel it really made much of a difference.<br /></div><div><strong>Characters: </strong>Carlos who is the main character doesn't do through any changes intill the end of the book. He becomes less homophobic and helps with the GSA. But blows off the first meeting to hook up with a girl. This is already half-way into the story and i felt he should have come farther then this. Sal is pretty cool, major polite and sweet. And kinda what you would expect from a gay guy. Carlos's friends are pretty much asses, untill the end when 2/3 actually change for the better and the other stays ignorant and assy. Roxy is shallow. Nuff' said<br />They are well written but i feel they were lacking. And these teens are always getting online hook-ups? That wasn't very believable to me. But in all okay on the character front.</div><div> </div><div><strong>Cover: </strong>Cute, Half Naked Guy, I really can't complain. And the colthing has to do with the story line so it's a nice tie-in.<br /></div><div><strong>Ages: </strong>13 and up, sexual stuff and some language. Nothing that bad. Although breasteses are seen. But the more Marcus writes, the more he's convinced that Jeffrey is falling for HIM, not Frannie.</div><div>Whose romance is this anyway? Read this heartwarming comedy of errors to find out.</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><div>(Review)</div><div>First off, I totally relate to Frannie and Marcus. Not the whole chat room thing. But the brain twin thing, yea me and my bestie totally have that. (Love you Lushious!) So crazy idea to have your gay bet friend pretend to be you online to try to hook the man of your dream huh? Yea it tis, but it's original. </div><br /><br /><div>So I really liked this book, it was cute and funny and well written. The characters are awhsum, but the supporting characters are hard to read. Like Jeffrey and Glen and Astrid??? They will keep you guessing throughout the entire book. And the humor is just...Funny, it works. I enjoy that Marcus isn't angsty and hating life cause he's gay. He's out at school and that doesn't matter, no one really cares beside a stray homophobes. So that made it realistic for the most part.</div><br /><br /><div>Frannie and Marcus have a great friendship but struggle through it in the middle of the book. The plot was good and pretty well paced. And the two alternate point of views from chapter to chapter. Altogether good book. </div><br /><br /><div>Complaints: Why are all gay men described as fabulous on the back blurbs. Honestly just cause he's gay doesn't make him fabulous. Regardless if it's true or not. Glen, just wish he was...well you'll find out if you read it. Each chapter has an icon for ether male or female to show who is talking. Well on one chapter Marcus had the female icon. It might just be my book but it's a defect.</div><br /><div>Cover: The hardback cover is alil' to cluttered. I like the paperback version, which I have. </div><br /><div>Age: 12 and up, mild language, and nothing more then kissing.</div><br /><div>3.5 Rocking out skulls<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SnZ8LHiRlAI/AAAAAAAAAOI/4bAcuLgGQy4/s1600-h/skull.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5365612536501736450" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 162px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 159px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SnZ8LHiRlAI/AAAAAAAAAOI/4bAcuLgGQy4/s200/skull.jpg" border="0" /></a></div></div>Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-19390807991177481162009-07-17T21:15:00.000-07:002009-07-18T10:27:22.198-07:00News: The Devouring #2Great news!!!! Very few books make me think that. And this one did. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">Dade</span> as a character is just so amazing. The name itself is very out there. But I bought it and was very surprised with it. Dino is such a prick and womanizer. (yes I just started singing that song :-)) Ben is stuck in a sucky relationship with a woman but old then him. and Jon is just weird, but really sweet. Jackie is a little too much in love with Dino. Miss is alittle to needy for Ben's liking. Deborah really likes Jon but will he be man enough to over look her weight?<br /><br />And under all the sex and nastey-ness is an honest to goodness love story. Everyone in this book is in love in some way or another. And that's the ultimate goal I think of the book. Love is such a taboo for some of these characters. Some straight out saying it, others no believing it, and others just not feeling it.<br /><br />But the set up of the book might be confusing. Some of the chapters are in third person and then some of the chapters are in first-person but the person talking changes. So although it seems confusing it wasn't for me. But if you like to have a solid point of view for the whole story this isn't for you.<br /><br />Ages: 15 and up, this book has very adult situations and language throughout.<br /><br />4/5 Rocking Out Skulls<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyIxVS9vI/AAAAAAAAAL4/pI7qD3owp24/s1600-h/skull.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357297989252740850" style="WIDTH: 105px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 120px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyIxVS9vI/AAAAAAAAAL4/pI7qD3owp24/s320/skull.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyZwuaHII/AAAAAAAAAMA/YsVIeyffqSk/s1600-h/skull.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357298281147407490" style="WIDTH: 121px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 121px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyZwuaHII/AAAAAAAAAMA/YsVIeyffqSk/s320/skull.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyxPnkz1I/AAAAAAAAAMI/B6hhOmjEwzc/s1600-h/skull.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357298684577238866" style="WIDTH: 124px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 119px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyxPnkz1I/AAAAAAAAAMI/B6hhOmjEwzc/s200/skull.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljzDtoh9GI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/5hqy0O8tiRs/s1600-h/skull.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5357299001871955042" style="WIDTH: 115px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 118px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljzDtoh9GI/AAAAAAAAAMQ/5hqy0O8tiRs/s200/skull.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SljyIxVS9vI/AAAAAAAAAL4/pI7qD3owp24/s1600-h/skull.jpg"></a>Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-12572836252057237082009-07-09T15:03:00.000-07:002009-07-09T16:32:52.627-07:00Young Avengers #1-12<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SlZ7-_UL4oI/AAAAAAAAALo/I8H31GNMyMI/s1600-h/young_avengers_1.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5356605128881988226" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 300px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SlZ7-_UL4oI/AAAAAAAAALo/I8H31GNMyMI/s320/young_avengers_1.jpg" border="0" /></a>(Review) <div>This volume, which I shall link, is awesome. I'm like for reals in love with the Young Avengers. This contains the first 12 issues, plus Annual #1. The first four YA are, Iron Lad, Asgardian, Hulkling, and Patriot. And we follow their wacky adventures up until like page 20 at which time they crash a wedding that is being held hostage. Kate Bishop is there and basically saves their asses. Then Kate meets Cassie Lang (Scott Lang's daughter) and they both join the YA! After much arguing and what-not. Kang is also involved in a very confusing time-traveling and annoying way. So yea. </div><br /><div>I just love the promo work for this new series. Because it is just so misleading. Anywho, characters I love are Wiccan (Billy), yea you can't have a gay hero with the name 'Asgardian', far too many jokes to be made. But I love his relationship with Teddy (Hulkling)!! And he was a twin brother Thomas (Speed). Now all you comic nerds, who are the parents of these twins? And I thought that when Billy tried to come out as a superhero his parents thought he was coming out as gay. HAHA good times. </div><br /><div>Also the love/hate relationship with Kate and Patriot is great and the Young Vision is just so great because him and Cassie have this really awkward thing. (Read to find out, yea?) So, me love this series, it's funny and sometimes sad, with great writing and artwork!!! And the back and forth between the adults and the young avengers is hilarious. </div><br /><div>And this comic is the winner of two great awards: 2006 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book, and The 2006 Harvey Award for Best New Series.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div><a href="http://www.amazon.com/Young-Avengers">Young Avengers</a></div>Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-16322062031825101922009-07-07T20:54:00.001-07:002009-07-07T21:04:46.968-07:00Me? Bubbly?Someone called me bubbly...WTF!?!? I didn't believe the lil' hoe (love her tho). So I went and watched some of my Videos. Holy shit! Is that how I really sound? Bloody hell it's horrid. I was having like a break down to my bestie friend not to long ago and she goes "How do you act so bubbly on the outside and then feel all that?"<br /><br />Granted, I'm an emotional little queer apparently I'm really good at hiding that. The emotional part anyways. So like I never thought of myself as bubbly cause then that would mean Prep. Lets not go there. Cause that would irk the hell out of me. So do I really act bubbly? Cause if I do then that's so not me and that's not the image I want to give people of myself. Whatever, I'm off. I've blogged too much about none book things today. But seriously me not bubbly. Maybe if my step-father wasn't such a douche, I could have an outward image.Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-20537507834751995132009-07-07T20:27:00.000-07:002009-07-07T20:48:48.537-07:00I WAS TAGGED<div align="left">I want to that <a href="http://charddaphneyice.daphneblogspot.com/">Daphne</a> for tagging me. I'm sitting around, cleaning my glasses, calling up your mum. What?<br />Nothing.<br />So I turn on my TV, (Kinda like I do your mum.) Okay, to the point of this post. America's Got Talent, why the hell are two of the judges NOT American? Not that I'm against this, but come on. On Britains got all of the judges are from Britain. I just don't know. I think that if you're going to be a judge on a show that has America in the title you should be American. Just like the people on Australia's Got Talent. One of the judges is from Canada and another is from England. And only one is from Australia. So yea, that's my little rant. Pointless but you know you enjoy it.Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-792366574011193268.post-5627652137746112992009-07-07T15:18:00.000-07:002009-07-07T15:47:22.445-07:00Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SlPQTLpcwOI/AAAAAAAAALg/d3zulIqTFcM/s1600-h/strange-angels-cover-200x30.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5355853409836384482" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 300px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_vijP_oBbh7M/SlPQTLpcwOI/AAAAAAAAALg/d3zulIqTFcM/s320/strange-angels-cover-200x30.jpg" border="0" /></a>(Blurb)<br />Dru Anderson has what her grandmother called “the touch.” (Comes in handy when you’re traveling from town to town with your dad, hunting ghosts, suckers, wulfen, and the occasional zombie.)<br />Then her dad turns up dead—but still walking—and Dru knows she’s next. Even worse, she’s got two guys hungry for her affections, and they’re not about to let the fiercely independent Dru go it alone. Will Dru discover just how special she really is before coming face-to-fang with whatever—or whoever— is hunting her?<br /><p> </p>(Review)<br />Okay, finished this lovely book many weeks ago. And I liked it, it was a good beginning of a series. There are a few flash back, I think, I honestly don't remember. Yea, I'm that good of a blogger. Anywho, if there are flash backs then they confused me. So Dru has the touch and after her father is turned into a zombie, things go down hill. And when he friend Graves turns into a 'kinda' werewolve. (Which isn't spelt like that in the book. Whatever.) So okay book.<br /><br />The characters are okay and the humor is for sure worth the read if not for anything else. God, this is an attractive post. Damn, so buy the book if you have extra money to spend or are a fan of the author. Or you know library.<br /><br />Age Group: Mid Teens. Swearing and although not sexual content...Suggested content. I've never read a book like this. Parker (not gonna spell that out) has an eating disorder. He is bulimic and has very low self-esteem. The book is told by Parker and his little sister Danielle. Switching on and off. Each chapter is a new day in a count down. Ex: Chapter 1 is entitled "88 days before" and it goes down each chapter. Which is interesting cause you must wonder...Days before what? And by the end this is revealed...Yeaya.<br /><br /><br />Okay no 'Yeaya' it's quite a sad book. But this book is really good. It's an interesting look in Jewish families and the expectations that come with it. And you get the best of both words reading this book. You get the struggle of the person with the disorder and with Danielle being able to write, you get to see how someone on the outside is handling there brothers problem.<br /><br /><br />Also there is a quote I would like to point out. "Sometimes trees can look healthy on the outside, but actually be dying inside. These trees fall unexpectedly during a storm." I just love this metaphor for Parker.<br /><p>Although Parker is kinda annoying. And I honestly don't see how someone as hot as he is would have such low self esteem. He also gets thinner and thinner and the only thing people say about it is "Did you lose weight?" No that believable. Also perhaps if Parker was over weight his story would be more believable. </p><p>Cover: Parker is known as a god when it comes to his looks. The boy on the cover although cute is not a god.</p>Age Group: Teens 13 and up for sure. This book has very little swearing and other then some heavy make-outs, it pretty timid. But the fact that Parker has an eating disorder he does do things that in itself is very...Heavy material. So that's it. Remember don't copy what you read in books, cause if you do, you may actually be a jack-ass.<br /><br /><br />ALSO-EDIT- If you are looking for info on eating disorders. She’s quit the cheerleading squad, she’s dumped her perfect boyfriend, and she’s failing school. Her parents are on constant suicide watch and her counselors think she’s playing games… but what they don’t know, the real reason for this whole mess, isn’t something she can say out loud. It isn’t even something she can say to herself.<br />A horrible thing has happened and it just might be her fault.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>(Review)</div><div>So this was a nice a fast read, finishing it in one afternoon, which is a major accomplishment for me. But that is also cause this book is so very engaging. Parker is a blast, but you have to love sarcastic, bitchy, cynical, pains in the asses. If you like those kind of people then I'm sure you'll like Parker right off the bat. I like those kind of people, being one of them myself. *_* Now, Parker is also holding a secret, just like most people in novels do. And this secret is what drives us to read the story and find out why Parker is so messed up. I'm not going to ruin anything and give away the big ending, but lets go over some things.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Jake is falling for Parker, and to be honest I can't tell if she is okay with this or not. Sometimes she is and sometimes she's the meanest person. Such an annoyance. Chris is Parker's ex, but still a very close friend and in the beginning still in love with her! And the other main character; Becky, the person that basically took over for Parker after her fall from grace. and the new girlfriend of Chris. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div>To be honest, Parker is the bad guy of the story, sure people are rude to her but most of the time they are just trying to be nice and she throws back bitchiness. She is her own downfall, but I suppose that is usually the point in these kind of novels. If you're like me, then I'm sure you think this is about a girl that had a bad first time, or was even raped. And that is what sent her into the spiral. Happy to say, that is not the case, and it's nice to see that change. A lot of books are like that, and it's getting old to me. But this worked, and I believe that in the end you will be shocked to find out what exactly is bothering Parker.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>Time for the warnings. *Sigh* Why do I do these? Regardless, as always swearing is throughout. As well as underage drinking. Sex and sensuality, drug use and suicide tendencies are all present.</div>Laughingcorpsehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08477397693173504733noreply@blogger.com0
